STUDIO ART
All levels of experience and creativity are welcome in Studio Art!
The one year class focuses on the elements and principles of art while using Visual Thinking Strategies (VTS) to learn about artists who will inspire us in the creation of our own works of art. The class will experience all mediums including watercolor, oil pastels, acrylic paint, graphite and colored pencils, as well as printmaking and collage.

Each student is graded on an individual basis. No cross-class comparisons will be made. I grade on my expectations of you and your growth as an individual.

- No Social Media of any kind (no exceptions)

GRADING POLICY
Each student is graded on an individual basis. No cross-class comparisons will be made. I grade on my expectations of you and your growth as an individual.
- Projects: 60%-Grade is based on self-assessments and teacher-based rubrics
- Sketchbook Assignments: 20%- Sketchbook assignments are given each Monday. They are due by Friday - they can be completed as homework or completed in class, i time permits.
- Class Participation: 20%- Students will be assessed on their use of class time, time management as well as participation in discussions and group work.
